Super Mario Bros. Super Show Cartoon Episode 11 – Jungle Fever
In the Amazon Jungle, Mario, using a plunger to swat his way through a variety of flora, leads Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool in their search for Dr. Sheldon, a mysterious witch doctor. After swatting through a large wall of bamboo, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool find themselves in a large clearing, with Mario inquiring if he can stop and take a lunch break. After Princess Toadstool reprimands Mario, saying he has already eaten three guavas, four breadfruit and two bananas, Luigi asks why they are searching for Sheldon. Toad and Princess Toadstool respond to Luigi's question by saying that Sheldon is the best witch doctor there is and that he may be powerful enough to create a potion that will remove King Koopa from Princess Toadstool's kingdom.
After being told all this, Mario decides to cancel his lunch break and begins to hack at some nearby brush with his plunger. As the heroes leave the field they are in, three Shyguys, who were spying on them, leave as well. Afterwards, the three Shyguys reach a towering treehouse and report to their master, King Koopa, that Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool were searching for Sheldon, who they planned on having create a potion to defeat him. After the Shyguys tell him this, King Koopa forms a plan to help him stop the heroes from reaching Sheldon.
In the Amazon Jungle, Mario is still hacking through plants with his plunger as Luigi asks how much further it is until they reach Sheldon's village. In response, Princess Toadstool looks at a map and tells Luigi that the village is close by. Afterwards, Toad, after walking a few feet, accidentally walks off the edge of a cliff and is left grasping at a vine, yelling for help.
As Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool rush to the edge of the cliff, Toad, using the vine he is hanging on to, manages to pull himself up to them. After Toad pulls himself out of George's Gorge, as the gorge is called, the Princess reads on her map that the gorge is at least three miles deep; this information disheartens Luigi, who says that maybe they should stop their journey to find Sheldon and just turn back.
Mario, disregarding Luigi's comment, points out a nearby, rather dangerous-looking rope bridge, which can be used to cross George's Gorge. Saying that there is no warning sign on the bridge, which Mario tests to see if it is solid, he beckons Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool to cross the bridge with him.
Nearby, King Koopa begins to mock the heroes, revealing that he took the warning sign for the bridge. After saying this, King Koopa turns to the Koopa Pack, which consists of several Albatosses, Bob-Ombs, and Shyguys and orders them to attack Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool.
Trivia & Bloopers
- In the original version, despite Butterfingers saying "Yikes! Cobrats!", only one Cobrat can be seen. This is fixed in the Latin American Spanish dub.
- When King Koopa asks his Shy Guys if they found out what Mario and his friends are doing, part of his mouth is briefly uncolored.
- When King Koopa stumbles into the Birdo, his crown disappears for a few frames.
- When Luigi mentions that it is not too late to turn back, part of the emblem on his cap is unpainted for a few frames.
- When DIC Entertainment removed the cover songs from its Nintendo-based cartoons, they missed a segment of this episode. Originally, "Jungle Love" is heard twice: first when Sheldon opens his shop and second when he is mixing a potion for Koopa. In the syndicated run, the second segment to feature the song is replaced by an instrumental version of the song "When Koopas Paint the Town" from the episode "True Colors" of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, but the first segment still uses Jungle
- The Shyguys of this episode all wear grass skirts and wield spears with two feathers on them, making them look similar to Spear Guys, who would appear later in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island six years after this episode was aired.

Dance (Live Action Sketch)
In Mario Brothers Plumbing, Mario, wearing a party hat, is in the midst of carrying a large pizza with a candle on it. Approaching Luigi, who is seated at a table while blindfolded, Mario, after repeatedly telling Luigi not to peek, places the pizza down in front of him. After setting the pizza down on the table, Mario tells Luigi to remove his blindfold, which he does.
After Luigi removes his blindfold, Mario wishes him a happy birthday and tells him to blow-out the candle on his pizza and to make a wish. Blowing-out the candle on the pizza, a happy Luigi proceeds to hug Mario as a thanks for making him the pizza. After Luigi hugs him tells him how good a brother he is, Mario takes an envelope out from behind his back and gives it to Luigi, saying it is his birthday present.
Excited, Luigi grabs the envelope and begins to open it; finally opening the envelope, Luigi finds a large, gold colored gift certificate, saying he will be allotted one free dance lesson from Shabba-Doo. Extremely grateful to Mario for this gift, Luigi says that he will get this dance lesson just in time for the Annual Plumbers' Dance. After Luigi says this, Mario says that he also signed-up for dance lessons with Shabba-Doo.
Hearing this, Luigi tells Mario that they are going to have to prepare for their dance lesson with some practice. Agreeing to this, Mario and Luigi begin to practice dancing, by spinning in place.
Later, Mario and Luigi, who are wearing rather bizarre costumes, are still practicing their dance moves, when the doorbell of their apartment rings. Hearing the doorbell, Luigi calls for whoever is there to come in. After Luigi says this, the door of the apartment bursts open, revealing Shabba-Doo, who quickly leaps down the stairs and wishes Luigi a happy birthday while high-fiving him. Luigi, who is enthralled at meeting Shabba-Doo, begins to bombard him with praise and questions.
